Maupay nga Gabi tanan!
As you can tell by the...subtitle line? What is that called? ah! Anyway, this week has been super busy!
Last P-day, we got pedicures! It was so awesome! I needed it.
We went to Tacloban for a trainers/trainees meeting. That was fun to see all my batch...and get my package!! wooo!! Thanks mom! you are the greatest! I love the outfit! And I got lice again.. so, I'm really thankful for the treatment you sent! And the Nutella. That really helped for my stress levels to have chocolate. :D
We also went to another funeral... That I ended up speaking at. I didn't know this lady. But, I think my last minute talk went really well!
After that we had some cool lessons and a few new investigators, and then on Saturday, JASON GOT BAPTIZED! WOOOOOO! It was so cool! When he came out of the water, He was super happy! He had the HUGEST smile! He got confirmed as a member/got the Holy Ghost, got the priesthood, and he worked with us all in one day! I'm so excited because he is going to be such a great missionary! Thanks again for all of your prayers!
Something weird happened this week! On Saturday, all the missionaries went to lunch (because we do every Saturday so that we can have language study together afterwards) And my zone leader gets this phone call from President Andaya. He said that my companion was getting emergency transferred Monday. Later, President Andaya called me and told me who my new compie was, where Sister Stoehr was going, and that we had to go to Tacloban early Monday morning. He told me that my new companion is super sick from stress and that my job was to help her not be stressed... So, Sister Stoehr packed her bags, said goodbye to everyone, gave a farewell testimony in sacrament meeting, 3 people gave her a good bye party, and people cried. Then, last night at 10pm we got a call saying that plans changed and that she isn't transferring... awkward... hahahahaha So, I'm thinking that I will probably transfer next cycle.
It was kind of a weird experience. As she was packing, I was reflecting on how I did training her, and my attitude for the past two transfers. I realized that time is really short. I remember hearing something that President Uchtdorf said, "We are the ones who ultimately determine our happiness." I realized that whatever our situation is, we can ALWAYS be happy. My new goal is to be happier. Always. Even if I get random sicknesses sometimes, and I have crazy hair and whatever. I can still be happy. We can all be happy. Not just later when all the trials stop, but NOW. Even if we have challenges or difficult circumstances, we also have sooooooooooo many blessings. :)
Later today we had a zone activity in Catbalogan. We went to a beach and played volleyball and soccer. I don't play soccer. I played touch rugby with all the Polynesian/Australian elders in my zone. Super fun! I forgot how much I love rugby. I'm so happy I have such a fun zone!
There have been no typhoons, or wars/government emergencies in my mission, but, in Mindinow there is a war. That's kind of scary. That's way down south though, so it's ok for us.
Well, I hope that everyone who reads this is happy and safe. And I pray that even through all the trials, we can still appreciate our time now, because, we don't know when it's up.
gugma pirmi,
Sister Bingham
