Halfway Halloween! ooooooo! Novemer 4, 2013

November 4, 2013

Kamusta tanan kaninyo!

Pasencha para sa late ang e-mail akong! uhhhh sorry that my e-mail was late! We had a zone activity at some caves! Sorry I didn't make it to my own halfway party... awkward...

This week was really fun! It was Halloween (which isn't really a celebrated holiday here... I was a missionary! ha...ha...ha...) We got a bag full of candy and passed it out to all the kids we saw that day. Good times!

Exciting news: We have a wedding and a baptism on the 15th and 16th!! Yay!! It is our investigator, Kristy Mae, who is living with a less active member. But, Kristy Mae has been an investigator for about 2 years now. She is my age, and she has two little adorable kids. I love her so much! I can't really say that I did any of the work at all in this conversion. We took Kristy Mae to city hall this week to help her finish work through all the wedding papers. The wedding is going to be at the chapel. I guess this wedding planning is practice for my wedding? haha

This week has been pretty good! We have 10 new investigators and we are really excited about them! And we are happy because a lot of members worked with us this week. It's such a blessing!

We also had a missionary fireside this week about unity. It was so good. Not that many people attended, but most of the people who did attend were less active. It was really cool! We went over a talk called, "Exclamation point!" that Elder Nelson gave during conference. He gave 3 really effective ways to share the gospel.

1. Specifically pray to bring someone to Christ every single day
2. Pray for the missionaries in your area and the investigators they are teaching by name
3. Wherever you go, whatever you do, invite someone to come along!

After me and my companion shared that, we played some team building games! Like the human knot one! It was really cool and super effective. I think it helped the branch be closer.

Today we went to some monkey caves about an hour and a half away. It was a zone activity, and it was super great! We got there, hiked up for 20 min, and then... it started raining... So... we didn't actually see any monkeys. hahaha But, we still had fun hiking around the caves and playing games.

I'm glad that everyone had such a great and safe time at Halloween! I love this gospel, and I am so happy that we all have the opportunity to share the gospel with people we love. I read a quote about how success is measured by our invitations. Not on if the people accept our message. The important thing is that we try. I get rejected everyday. The other day, we were walking down the street and we met this really old lady. She was like, "Oh, you are two beautiful lovely girls." (She speaks beautiful English)

"Hey Ny! Can we share a message with you?" we asked

"Are you going to convert me?" She asked

"Hopefully!"

"Please please please please do not do that, sisters. I don't want to change." said Ny.

"That's ok Ny, we still love you!" we said.

Our job isn't to force people to change, just to help them bring more peace and love and happiness into their lives. As long as we honestly try, that's all that's important.

Happy Holidays! I'm so thankful for all of you, and all your prayers!

Love,

Sister Bingham
